What's in your hand?

A 10-week Everybody Can Do Something campaign

Nobody has to do everything.
Everybody can do something.

For the next 10 weeks, Monument of Faith is working together to create new resources for ministry. Bring a skill, a cake, a friend, or a prayer.

Exodus 4:2
“What is that in thine hand?”

When God called Moses, He didn't ask for something Moses didn't have. He asked about what was already in his hand. This campaign asks the same question of every one of us.

The Campaign

Not “how much can you give?” but “what can you do?”

We're not trying to squeeze more out of our congregation. We're working together to create additional resources for ministry, and to widen the circle of people who believe in what God is doing at Monument.

Stylist braiding a young woman's hair

What can you do?

Cut grass, clean houses, detail cars, braid hair, sew and alter. Your skill becomes a seed.

Woman decorating a cake with fresh berries

What can you make?

Cakes, dinners, crafts. Homemade things sell fast and bless twice.

Boy smiling behind a lemonade stand

What can you sell?

Lemonade and promotional fundraising items to good furniture, décor, tools, and vehicles.

Man detailing a black car

Who can you connect us with?

A business owner, a sponsor, or a vendor.

Grandmother cooking greens on the stove

How can you serve?

Work extra hours, cook, run errands, or pray specifically over this campaign.

Friends of Monument

Widen the circle.

Every member names five people outside the congregation who believe in you, our church, or our work in the community, and invites them to stand with us. No set amount. Any gift helps, and so does a prayer. Your circle of people can give to a cause by sponsoring a Gift Box of either food or personal toiletry items. 200 Gift Boxes will be distributed at both Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.

  • Make your list of five
  • Share this page with them
  • Gifts of $10, $25, $50, $100, or prayer
  • Sponsor a food or toiletry Gift Box
40 members × 5 friends × $25 = $5,000200 new friends of the ministry, not 200 bigger asks.
Give as a Friend of Monument
Two We Care boxes from our church and a Friend of Monument: a food box with pantry staples and a personal hygiene box with soap, shampoo, and toiletries

Together, the three streams could raise $9,500 – $18,000

Questions

Good to know

Does this replace my tithes and offerings?

No. Please keep your regular giving exactly as it is. This campaign is completely separate, so the church's regular income stays healthy while the campaign creates additional resources for ministry.

Do I have to give money to take part?

Not at all. You can offer a service, donate items, invite friends, work an event, or pray. Nobody has to do everything, but everybody can do something.

Can people outside our church give?

Yes, and we hope they will. Friends of Monument is built for family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers who believe in you or in our work. There's no set amount.

How does Serve & Sow work?

You do something you're already good at (bake, mow, detail, braid) and give all or part of what you earn to the campaign. Sign up above and we'll help you get the word out.

How long does the campaign run?

Ten weeks. We'll post weekly totals on the participation board here and at church, with a short update every Sunday.

Can my business sponsor something?

Yes. Sponsors can underwrite food, venue, or printing for campaign events. Choose “Contact local businesses” or email mofcmmarketing@gmail.com.
